My Last Vacation with Mom: Atlantic City
June 19, 2013
Our third city on the trip was Atlantic City. I was pretty excited for this city for some reason, maybe because I have heard a lot about it, but have never seen it. AND it was the inspiration for the Monopoly board game! It rained as we left Philadelphia, and it carried over upon arriving in Atlantic City. My cousin booked us a family suite at the Taj Mahal Hotel. I thought it was hilarious. To me, Atlantic City seemed like a mix of Reno and Santa Cruz. I wouldn’t say Vegas because it had that older feel like Reno. It was still a cool city! We decided to stay two nights instead of one because I think we wanted to explore the area an extra day.

That night, the San Antonio Spurs were playing the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals, and being basketball fans, we all sat around to watch.

The next day, we all sort of split up, and I grabbed lunch with a couple of my cousins. We walked around the boardwalk and even went down to the beach.

It was the first time I had ever touched the Atlantic Ocean so I was really taking the time to soak in the experience. I didn’t want to take it for granted. It was a very relaxing day walking along, enjoying all the sites and sounds. The next day, we packed our bags and headed to the last stop on the trip, Washington D.C.
